Grand taxi

Grand taxis leave from the grand taxi station in Essaouira. You can share a taxi with other passengers or hire the whole car. Agree the price before you leave, and do not pay for the return trip in advance.

Local bus

A local bus line runs between Essaouira and Sidi Kaouki a few times a day. It is the cheapest option. Timetables change, so check the current times before you go and arrive a little early for the return.

Car

Driving is the easiest option if you have surfboards or want to explore the coast. Follow the road south from Essaouira. Drive slowly through villages and watch for animals on the road.

Private transfer

A transfer is useful with luggage, children or a late arrival. Agree the price and pickup point in advance.

By bike

Some people cycle from Essaouira. Avoid the middle of the day in summer, and bring plenty of water.

Nearest Airports

  • Essaouira-Mogador Airport is the closest. It has fewer flights than the big airports.
  • Marrakech and Agadir have more flights. From there, travel by road to Essaouira, then on to Sidi Kaouki.

From Marrakech

Travel to Essaouira first by bus, shared taxi, private transfer or car, then continue to Sidi Kaouki. Long-distance bus companies run between Marrakech and Essaouira every day. Check current times and book ahead in busy periods.

From Agadir

Sidi Kaouki is between Agadir and Essaouira. Drivers can take the coastal road north. By bus, travel to Essaouira and continue from there, or ask your driver about stopping on the way.

Getting Around

The village is small and you can walk everywhere. For trips to Essaouira, use a grand taxi or the bus. If you stay outside the village, a car is helpful.
