Wind

Strong, regular wind is normal here. It is great for kitesurfing and wingfoil, and it keeps summer days fresh. For beach days, find a sheltered spot and bring a windproof jacket.

The Sea

The water is cool for much of the year. Surfers usually wear a full wetsuit. Swimming is only advised when the sea is calm. See swimming safety.

What to Pack

  • All year: sun cream, sunglasses, a windproof jacket and a warm layer for the evening.
  • Winter: a warm jumper and a light rain jacket.
  • Summer: light clothes, a hat, and still a jacket for the evening.
