The Short Answer
You can easily reach Sidi Kaouki without a car by grand taxi, local bus or private transfer from Essaouira. Once you are there, the village and the beach are walkable. A car only becomes really useful if you stay outside the village or want to explore the coast.

Grand taxi
Leaves from the grand taxi station in Essaouira. You can share it with other passengers or hire the whole car. Agree the price before you leave.
Local bus
A bus line runs a few times a day. It is the cheapest option, but check the current timetable and arrive early for the return.
Private transfer
The easiest option with luggage, surfboards or children, or for airport arrivals. Book ahead.

Getting Around Once You Are There
The village is small and you can walk everywhere, including to the beach. Many activity providers meet you in or near the village. Ask about the meeting point when you arrange your activity.
The Limits
- Buses are not frequent, and the last one can be early.
- Taxis may be harder to find in the evening or out of season.
- Accommodation outside the village can be a long walk from the beach.
- Exploring other beaches along the coast is easier by car.

- Before you leave Essaouira, check the time of the last bus back.
- If you take a taxi, agree a pickup time and place with the driver.
- Do not pay for the return trip in advance.
- Save your guesthouse's phone number. They can often help call a taxi.
- Keep cash in small notes for the fare.
