The Short Answer
Choose a quad if you want an active ride and are happy to steer with handlebars. Choose a buggy if you prefer a steering wheel, a seat belt and sitting next to your partner or friend.
Side by Side
| Quad bike | Buggy | |
|---|---|---|
| How you drive | Handlebars, like a motorbike | Steering wheel and pedals, like a car |
| Seats | One driver, sometimes a passenger behind | Two seats side by side |
| Feel | More physical, you lean into turns | More stable and enclosed |
| Good for | Active riders, solo travellers | Couples, people who prefer a car-like feel |

Driving and Passengers
Both start with a briefing and a short practice. On a quad you steer and lean, which takes a few minutes to get used to. In a buggy, most people feel at home quickly. If you share, a passenger sits behind the driver on a quad and next to the driver in a buggy. Rules about who can drive, minimum ages and licences depend on the provider, so ask before you book.
