The Short Answer
Surfing is one reason people come to Sidi Kaouki, but it is not the only one. If you like walking, animals, simple food and quiet days, there is plenty to enjoy. Here are the best ways to spend your time.
Walk the Beach
The beach runs south for kilometres and becomes very wide at low tide. A walk along the water is the simplest pleasure here. Go in the morning, when it is usually calmer, and check the tide before you set off. Walk north to the marabout on the rocks, or south as far as you like.

Try a Ride
- Horse riding on the firm sand at low tide, for beginners and experienced riders.
- Camel rides: slow, calm and good for families.
- Quad biking or buggy tours on tracks and dunes behind the beach.

Watch the Surfers and Kiters
On windy afternoons, the beach fills with kites. Watching them is free, and it is easy to spend an hour with a mint tea in a café near the sand. Keep a safe distance from the launch area.

Cafés and Food
Have a slow lunch: tagine, grilled fish, salads and mint tea. There are only a few places, so it is more about time than choice. See restaurants and cafés.
Explore the Countryside
Behind the beach there are fields, argan trees and small villages. The area is part of the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve. A guided ride is an easy way to see it. If you walk on your own, stay on paths and respect farmland.

Do Very Little
Many visitors simply read, sleep well and watch the sunset. If that sounds good, Sidi Kaouki is a nice place to stay for a few nights. See where to stay.
Plan Your Days
A good non-surfing day: a morning walk to the marabout, a horse or camel ride, a long lunch, a quiet afternoon and the sunset. See all things to do in Sidi Kaouki.
